Title: "Tsarevets and Yantra" ("Tzarevetz i Yantra") Artist: Zhaklina Yamelieva Technique: Classical oil painting on canvas, executed with palette knives (3D impasto technique).
Concept & Narrative: The canvas "Tsarevets and Yantra" by Zhaklina Yamelieva presents the historic hill of Veliko Tarnovo rising gracefully above the Yantra River. At the base, flowing waters and traditional architecture represent temporal existence and the passage of time (The Fall). Ascending stone cliffs, ancient fortress walls, and the Patriarchal Cathedral at the summit embody spiritual perseverance, triumph, and Ascension.
Style & Execution: Rich 3D impasto texture applied with bold palette knife strokes, creating tactile volume for stone, foliage, and sky. A vibrant palette of lush greens, ochre, warm earth tones, brilliant white, and azure blue.
Why Invest: • Iconic Heritage: A dramatic landscape capturing the Yantra River and Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo. • Museum-Grade Quality: Crafted with premium European oil paints on high-quality canvas. • Tactile Impasto Artistry: Heavy palette knife application catches ambient light with depth and realism.
