Concept and Philosophical Narrative The canvas "Bozhentsi House" by artist Marchel Yameliev is a meditative allegory of ancestral roots, cultural heritage, and spiritual home. Guided by the central dichotomy of Ascension and the Fall, the firmly grounded stone walls, dark slate roofs, and courtyard shadows represent earthly weight, physical time, and human ties to the land (the Fall). Yet, the glowing white facades, sunlit windows, golden autumn foliage, and soft lavender sky symbolise preserved spirit, soul purification, and the victorious Ascension into divine light and timeless memory.

The village of Bozhentsite was declared an architectural and historical reserve in 1964. For this reason, it has preserved the architecture of the Renaissance, and there is a ban on the construction of buildings that are not in the preserved style of the village. Since the settlers during the Ottoman rule were wealthy and influential people, most of the houses are on two floors (kata). The first is usually used as a shop, and the second was inhabited by the owners. Characteristic of the divine houses are the verandas, the roofs of stone slabs, the corner fireplaces, the wood carvings on the ceilings. The pavement of the streets of Bozheni is everywhere only cobbled.
